Taxation Without Representation
  • Taxes were one of the major problems.
  • Britain thought they had the right to tax the
colonist because Britain ruled over them.
  • The first taxes were not so bad. As the years
went by the colonist found themselves drowning in
    them.
  • The colonist were taxed on ordinary items such as
    tea.
  • Thats called taxation without representation and
    it is not fair!

3
TradeDa BIG Issue
  • Britain took advantage with trade.
  • The colonist would sell the British inexpensive
items. The British would than sell the item for a
more expensive prices in a cruel way. That is
    called mechanism.
  • The colonist realized they were being taken
advantage of and wanted to make their own
    decision.

4
Standing Armies !!!! (look out)
  • A major issue was that Britain had standing
armies in the colonies even in times of peace.
  • It was hard to speak your mind of the British in
    vain.
  • Britain was very violent so if you said King
George The III you would be executed in many
    horrid ways.

5
Da Boston Massacre
  • The Boston massacre was very unfair to the
    colonist.
  • It shows in a way that Britain did not care for
peace and preferred to strike an innocent
    colonist randomly.
  • The British killed possibly 9 colonist.
  • Britain then bayoneted the wounded colonist and
left the bodies there to die.

6
The Quartering Act!!!!!
  • Under the law the colonist had to provide the
British solders with food transportation and
    shelter as well.
  • The British forced the colonist to accept the
horrid offer of Quartering because Britain said
they were protecting the colonist from the French
    a threat.
  • The colonist however never considered the French
    a threat.
