  • PRIMARY ROLE
  • To offer a framework of operation in the Child
    Welfare Sector, ensuring every child if ever
    enters the system, is treated with care and
    compassion with all its Rights acknowledged and
    protected.

Children in need of care and protection
  • RECEPTION CENTRES
  • Improving conditions of Receiving / Shelter
    homes, volunteering for Multilingual needs,
    Counselling and Trauma Care
  • Assist in tracing missing children's parents /
    guardians
  • Providing Child friendly environment during stay,
    Educational and Vocational Programs during period
    of stay

  • Co-ordinate with Homes offering Specialized
    services for Special needs children, seeking
    assistance for placement of such destitute
    children.
  • Take up reference cases needing Sponsorships/
    Assistance, Adoption, Foster Care , as a viable
    mode of permanency plan of rehabilitation by
    networking with other NGOs and or funding
    organizations offering such services.

  • Documentation of cases for Area (High Risk) based
    Intervention programs
  • Child Abuse cases - follow up till Final Order
    for cases presented to JJB / Regular Courts
  • Assessment and referral services for Older
    children needing Vocational Rehabilitation
  • Follow up of cases placed with Children's Homes
    or reinstated in the Family.

CHILDRENS HOMES
  • Medical and Psychological support, Mentorship for
    Orphan children / Children with no visitors.
  • Co Management of the Homes with value added
    services to the children - infrastructure,
    augmenting education, counselling and vocational
    training.
  • Assist in review of placement of older children
    periodically, to examine family based options of
    rehabilitation

lawOBSERVATION HOMES
  • Co Management of the Homes for improving living
    conditions, vocational training, sports and games
    besides literacy and life skills.
  • Assistance in free legal aid
  • Counseling and emotional literacy development
  • Bridge relationships with parents / guardians

  • Co-ordinating community based Correction modes
  • Documentation of cases for delinquency mapping
    and collation of data for Intervention programs
  • Assessment and referral services for Completed
    cases

  • Providing Child friendly environment in the
    Juvenile Justice Board Premises
  • Bail and Shelter for children who do not have
    parents or guardian
  • Providing to all children in High Risk groups
    information about 1098 and Child Welfare
    Services, and seeking its assistance incase they
    are forced to commit crimes by adults.

CAUSE OF CHILDREN ENTERING THE SYSTEM -
PREVENTION
  • Creative Summer Camps for children in Community
    Schools especially in High Risk Areas in each
    District, to keep them occupied, thereby
    preventing Delinquency and gang formation during
    the school holidays.
  • After Care Crèches for young children, attached
    to Balwadis.

    neglected and delinquent children and services
    available to address their needs
  • Improving the conditions of Community Schools
    and Balwadis
