  • The Efficiency Maine program is administered by
    the Maine Public
  • Utilities Commission and is funded by Maine
    electricity consumers
  • In order to
  • Increase consumer awareness of cost-effective
    options for conserving energy
  • Create more favorable market conditions for the
    increased use of energy efficient products and
    services
  • Promote sustainable development and reduced
    environmental impact
  • Reduce the cost of electricity over time for all
    consumers by achieving reductions in Demand for
    electricity peak periods
  • Reduce total energy costs for electricity
    customers in the State by increasing the
    efficiency with which electricity is consumed

  • Residential assistance (for lighting and

  • Maine schools (High Performance Schools Program
    for new school construction)

Engineering and Technical Support
  • Efficiency Maine is supported by a program
    delivery team that provides engineering and
    technical services
  • The delivery team helps customers substantiate
    the practical and financial value of energy
    efficiency measures and complete the necessary
    program participation forms
  • Measurement and verification of efficiency
    projects is completed by the delivery team using
    established protocols. The projects are also
    assessed and summarized independently
