Day 1 Lecture and Set-up
  • Rules
  • Techniques
  • Equipment Proper care
  • Set-up
  • Grip
  • Students will learn how to hit forehand and
    backhand shots
  • Student homework will be an internet assignment.

Day 2 Rules
  • Homework will be reviewed
  • Students will receive Official ping pong rules
    handout
  • Official Table Tennis Rules
  • How points are scored
  • How to properly serve
  • How to alternate serves
  • How to determine the winner

Day 3 Singles and Doubles
  • Students will participate in a minimum of 1
    singles, 1 doubles and score 1 game

Day 4 Review Hands on Evaluation
  • Students will review the rules, techniques, and
    equipment necessary for playing ping-pong
  • For the hands on evaluation students will
    demonstrate in singles their knowledge for ping
    pong rules and scoring
  • Students will receive a study sheet for day 5
    written evaluation

Day 5 Written Evaluation
  • Students will take written evaluation on rules,
    techniques, grip, set-up/layout
  • After evaluation students will be allowed to
    participate in singles games and scoring

Day 6 Tournament
  • Students will begin singles tournament (final 4
    players receive 5 bonus points and the winner
    will receive 10 bonus points)
  • Students will be eliminated b process of
    elimination
  • Students will play until only 4 players are left
  • Day 7 will start the tournament finals and
    determine the winner

Day 7 Tournament Finals
  • Ping Pong assembly for Tournament Finals
  • Finals winner will be determined by double
    elimination
  • Tournament players will be recognized and the
    winner will receive a plaque or trophy

Require Learner Participation
  • Give students a novel task
  • A class tournament where students are learning
    and playing for more than a grade will draw them
  • Students are more interested when actively
    engaged

Evaluate and Revise
  • Students will be graded by written evaluation but
    also by (participation) physically demonstrating
    proper handling of paddle, return of ball,
    serving properly, keeping score during classes,
    and their homework assignment.
