  • The Assembly Line Ford was the first company to
    invent and renovate the one key factor that made
    the automotive industry so successful.
  • Just in Time Inventory Reducing the cost of
    keeping large amount of inventory on hand.
  • Brand Diversity Ford markets its many different
    brands and models based on consumer demographics,
    advertising more luxurious cars in areas where
    potential customers have more disposable income
    and vice versa.
  • Recalls Always a potential problem that could
    cost Ford millions in potential law suits and or
    the cost of fixing the recalled vehicles.

Conclusion
  • Ford is one of the largest most successful
    automotive manufacturing companies in the world.
    They didnt get the place they are today without
    being able to utilize every resource available to
    them to their full potential, being information,
    cultural, data concentration, and to get the
    optimal output from the assembly line it has
    worked so hard to perfect. Ford has learned how
    to compete on national and a global level, to
    cope with stricter government regulations along
    with high customer standards on desired products.
    Any company that has started out as Ford Motor
    Company has done will continually learn and adapt
    to changing times and markets.

  • Doing this project together as a group helped me
    greatly improve my personal communication skills,
    as most of the coordination within the group was
    done on my part, and it also helped my business
    skills by once again opening my perspective and
    business knowledge to new ideas and dimensions
    within the corporate world.

  • This project has allowed me to get an insight of
    how a company can move from being a large
    successful business to a huge global business. I
    was able to see how the industry at Ford Motor
    Company went from being able to just build cars
    the cheapest to developing the information
    systems between the different sectors of the
    company to get the best communication and overall
    productivity and profitability our or a large
    manufacturing company.

Assessments
  • In this project, we learned how to get
    information about a company. We researched their
    missions and goals along with their profit
    performance. We also found key factors that
    contribute to the success of global business.
    Not only did we research the growth factors of
    the organization, we also looked at potential
    risks. I thought this project was very useful
    and helped provide insight about company
    research. I feel I could use this information in
    the future.

  • Through this project I have learned many
    aspects of the Ford Motor Company. I have
    learned how well Ford is doing financially. I
    have also learned what Ford is trying to achieve
    for the consumer. Through the information model,
    one can see what components work well for Ford in
    order to be a successful company.
