Repetitive Stress Injury Prevention In many areas
of your workplace, workers are at jobs requiring
repetitive bending and twisting of the hand and
wrist. There are hundreds of jobs that involve
these kind of hand movements. These repetitive
tasks often place excessive stress on muscles and
nerves in the hand and wrist and cause a
musculoskeletal disorder -- a painful and often
crippling disease -- Tendonitis, Ganglion Cysts,
and Tenosynovitis. These are all serious hand and
wrist disorders that are showing up in dramatic
numbers among workers in all industries. What
causes Musculoskeletal Disorders? (MSDs) The
majority of work-related MSDs involve jobs which
have in common one or more of the following risk
factors Awkward Postures. Abnormal positions of
the wrist or shoulders, bending and twisting of
the wrists, twisting of the arms, holding the
elbows away from the body, reaching behind the
body, lifting things above shoulder level, or
using a pinching grasp. Forceful Exertions.
Making forceful cuts, lifting heavy items, using
a pinch versus a power grip, using a hand tool
with hard, sharp edges. Repetition. Repeated and
prolonged activity, making hundreds of repeated
motions a day. The more repetitive the task, the
more rapid and frequent are the
muscle contractions. Muscles performing highly
repetitive tasks require more effort and
consequently more recover time or rest pauses
than less repetitive tasks. Other elements that
contribute to MSDs are cold temperatures,
slippery floors, poor grip on handles and
vibrating tools. Many jobs require a combination
of the above risk factors, such as
forceful grip on a knife and repetitive cutting
in an awkward posture.

CRD170 Multi-Angle Tubing Cutter This
semi-automatic, electro-pneumatic table-top
device is designed for precision and speed in the
production environment. This cutter is capable of
cutting 15, 30, 45, 60, 75, and 90 angles.
The actuating button located on the adjustable
slide block makes the medical tubing cutter
ergonomically friendly and easy to operate. This
precision-crafted industrial and cleanroom
product has several thousand hours of proven
operational effectiveness. The cutter comes with
an accurate scale with inch and millimeter
graduations. An optional stainless steel
electronics cover is available. Technical
Specifications The CRD170 will cut most flexible
tubing, non- metallic braided tubing and
heat-shrink from sizes of 1/16" (1.5mm) through
9/16" (14.5mm). Cuts 15, 30, 45, 60, 75, and
90 angles. A recommended durometer of Shore A
100, or less, will be cut very effectively
without "burring", tube deformation or excessive
unit wear. Easily iYterÐhaYgeadle dushiYg sets
sizes raYge frow ?/?6? to ?/??. Minimum/maximum
cut lengths range from 1-1/2" to 24". Power
supplies for both North America (120VAC) and
Europe (230VAC) to be specified at the time of
order. Requires 100-120 PSI air supply. An
optional foot pedal is available. An optional
stainless steel electronics cover is
available. 90 days parts and labor warranty see

About Us introduction chronicles our early life
from birth into adolescence and development as we
adapt to changes in the marketplace. Because the

Our first customers came from the clean rooms of
medical device companies where the handling,
cutting, and insertion of fittings into flexible
medical tubing slowed production and suffered
high incidences of musculoskeletal disorders
brought about by continued repetitive actions.
Our technical staff has over 70 years of
experience solving just such problems, and we
know that what often looks like an easy assembly
on the design screen can be a nightmare in the
assembly area. To solve those problems, we
developed a line of tubing cutters, tubing
expanders which allow for easier fitting
insertion, and fully-automatic fitting
inserters. Although all of our products are
clean room compatible, we began receiving
inquiries from many industries that handle
flexible tubing of all sorts, many of which had
assembly rooms that did not require a clean room
environment, but they liked the materials and
precision of our devices. As word spread, we
began to get inquiries from such diverse
industries as the automotive industry air bed
manufacturers, and even a portable water
purification equipment manufacturer. Our modular
pass-through windows are in use in many
applications from pharmacies to assembly areas
where an automatic pass- through is required
outside the clean room environment. We do not
try to be all things to all firms, dut as our
slogaY proÐlaiws, ?e are ?WHERE TUBING AND
FITTING COME TOGETHER?. We urge you to seYd
sawples of your fittiYg/tudiYg ÐowdiYatioYs.
Well perforw a free ealuatioY iY our ladoratory
aYd seYd you our recommendation, along with the
assembled combinations, and await your opinion of
whether we were able to solve your problem or
not. While many companies proclaim that they are
Built to Last, we are also Built to Evolve so
that we can remain at the forefront of solving
customer problems. We know that every length of
tubing must come to an end.
