In His Career
2Paul Zarda is an Orlando based professional with
expertise in diverse areas of technology and
research. Owing to his skills and expertise, he
has won various awards and recognitions. He has
also been associated with many societies and
organizations. He won the Salutatorian award in
the Class of 1970 at Columbia University School
of Engineering and Applied Sciences. He graduated
2nd in his graduating class with a 3.91/4.00 GPA.
He was also a member of The Society of the Sigma
Xi -- National Honor Society for Science and
Scientific Research (1973).
3He has also won the New York Association of
Consulting Engineers award in 1970 as well as the
Madigan, Hyland, Praeger, Kavanagh, Waterbury
Scholarship. He won the Bronze Key Award for
overall excellence at Columbia University (1970)
and the Illig Medal for Outstanding Achievement
in Applied Sciences, Columbia University (1970).
4Paul Zarda has also been recognized with
admission to the Tau Beta Pi, National Honor
Society for Engineering (1970) and Robert
Ridgeway Award and Associate Membership in the
American Society of Civil Engineers (Metropolitan
Section). He won Columbia University Scholarships
(1968-1970) and Dollars for Scholars
Scholarships, Jacksonville University (1965-1968).

- He has been invited as a Guest Speaker at IBM 6th
International Conference on Finite Element
Methods'' in Owego, N. Y., April, 1979, and at
the Society of Automotive Engineers' Forum on
Computer Aided Engineering in the Automotive
Industry'' in Chicago, March, 1989.

- He has been selected as one of 100 people out
of approximately 12,000 to attend the 1986
Recognition Night for Martin Marietta employees,
in Orlando, Fla. He received a teaching
appointment to the Department of Mechanical,
Materials and Aerospace Engineering at the
University of Central Florida. There he received
the title of "Research Professor of Mechanical
Engineering" (June, 1997 to present).

- Paul Zarda has been a recipient of a 2000
Lockheed Martin SIR Cash Award for the
Electronics and Missiles Benchmark team and the
corresponding EPI Corporate Benchmark for a
Mechanical Design System (1994) and also of a
400 Lockheed Martin SIR Cash Award for the
Failure Analysis for the Pratt and Whitney Thrust
Reverser (1995).
