PREVALENCE-GENDER WISE
  • Incidence of footrot was more in females (26.41)
    than in males (20.37).

  • Higher incidence was noted in age group of 1-2
    years both in Nellore Jodepi (32.65) and Deccani
    breed (31.82).

ANATOMICAL DISPOSITION
  • Analysis of footrot data based on anatomical
    disposition revealed higher prevalence in
    forelimbs (65.27) than in hind limbs (34.71).

  • Twenty footrot positive sheep were divided
    randomly into two groups (Group-I and Group-II).

  • Clinical recovery is faster in enrofloxacin
    treated sheep, as lameness subsided and lesion
    score reduced to zero and all other clinical
    parameters resumed to normalcy by 5th day post
    treatment except the body and coat condition,
    compared to sheep treated with Procaine G
    Penicillin

  • The sheep in this group took 7-10 days for
    complete recovery in terms of absence of lameness
    by obtaining zero lesion score. The clinical
    recovery in terms of demeanor and other vital
    parameters was less fast in Procaine G Penicillin
    treated sheep as compared to enrofloxacin treated
    sheep
