Title: Diagnosis and Types of Infections
1Diagnosis and Types of Infections
2About Infection
Whenever a foreign substance enters into our body
through nose or mouth or skin contact or even
through bodily fluids, it causes harm inside and
creates an infection. Though most of the diseases
are treatable, preventing it in the first place
and also diagnosing at the early stage avoids any
complications in the future.
3Types of Infection
Though there are several types of infections, the
most common ones are bacterial, fungal, viral and
prion. However, there are several vaccines to
prevent certain diseases, and infection tests are
available to detect and cure the disease.
4Virus Infection
Whenever a foreign substance enters into our body
through nose or mouth or skin contact or even
through bodily fluids, it causes harm inside and
creates an infection. Though most of the diseases
are treatable, preventing it in the first place
and also diagnosing at the early stage avoids any
complications in the future.
5Example of Infectious Viruses
Examples of viruses like rhinovirus or by warts
and skin infections, gastroenteritis by the Nova
virus are treatable, and another virus which
needs special attention in treating them are Zika
virus, Dengue fever, Ebola, H1N1 Swine flu to
name a few. One should also keep in mind that
antibiotics will not cure the viruses, but it
will only increase risks of antibiotic resistance.
6Bacterial Infection
These single-celled microorganisms thrive well in
any kind of environment from extreme heat to
intense cold, and there are good bacteria which
helps to kill the harmful bacteria. Antibiotics
are used to treat bacterial infection. Some of
the treatable bacterial infections are food
poisoning, eye infections, skin infections,
gastritis, pneumonia, sinusitis or urinary tract
infections but there are some bacterial
infections which need to treat with special care
are cholera, diphtheria, bubonic plague, and
tuberculosis.
7Diagnosis
A simple blood test for infection helps to detect
what types of viruses has caused the infection
and the doctor may prescribe the treatment plan
according to the disease. Blood tests result
either positive or negative if positive there is
bacteria or yeast in your blood and if it is
negative then there is no sign of any infection.
However, a disease in your blood is serious which
needs immediate medical attention.
