Title: Things You Must know Before Hiring a Skip

1
Things You Must know Before Hiring a Skip
2
  • Hiring a skip London can be quite daunting if you
havent done it before. Everyone seems to assume
you already know how it works and what you need.
To help make it all a bit easier, here is our
    Skip hire guide.
  • What you can put in to skip?
  • What size of skip you should hire?
  • How much you should pay for skip hire?
  • Where does the waste goes?

3
What to Put In a Skip?
  • By the rule of local councils, you can only put
non-hazardous things in the skip. Things that are
not allowed to through in the skip container is
    asbestos, batteries, clinical waste, electrical
    appliances, refrigerator, air conditioning unit,
gas canisters, hazardous or toxic material, oil,
petrol, diesel, cans of paint, tyres, TV
    computer screens.
  • If any prohibited items are found when the skip
is emptied you are likely to be charged extra and
the restricted items returned to you.

Choosing the Right Size of Skip
  • The ideal size of skip depends on the amount of
waste. So first of all calculate waste you have
and what size of skip suit best. For Safeguard,
order bigger skip than your exact need. For
example if you need to dispose 20-25 bags
rubbish, you should rent a rubbish skip who can
hold 30-35 rubbish bag easily. But make sure you
have enough waste to fill it, otherwise, youll
end up paying for thin air. Also, bear in mind
most councils do not allow skips larger than 8
yards to be placed on a public highway.

5
How much to Pay for Skip?
  • Skip prices can vary it will go up and down
depending on the skip size you opt for.
  • Keep in mind that hiring a skip (before any
permit fee) typically costs more than having the
waste removed by a man van. This is because a
man van only need to visit your site once,
whereas skip lorries come twice once to deliver
    and once to collect.

6
Where Does the Waste Goes?
  • Once Rubbish is collected, the skip will be taken
to a licensed commercial waste transfer station.
At the transfer station the waste is unloaded and
sorted.  Depending on the waste types, where the
transfer station is in the UK and its sorting
equipment, the material will either be recycled,
sent to a waste to energy facility, taken to a
landfill site or a combination of all three.
