Introduction
  • A surface finishing process that involves impel
machines is known as the sandblasting process.
Also known as abrasive blasting.  Normally
sandblasting and air compressors are used to
spray abrasive particles on the surface with high
    pressure.
  • It is called sandblasting because it blows up the
surface with sand particles. When the sand
particles hit the body, the soft texture takes
    place.
  • Sandblasting makes the most of sands abrasive
properties have a soft and glossy surface
however, some flaws also exist as physical
faults. Its a fact that sand is rough and
chopped due to these properties, its easy to
wash away excess of it from the surface.
  • Sandblasting works in the same way as sandpaper.
When it is rubbed on the surface it eliminates
the excess material and creates a softer
    texture.

How Sandblasting Process Takes Place
  • The sandblasting process starts with pouring the
sand in the machine. It has a chamber through
sand that is easily poured and filtered. The
sandblasting device is also attached to an air
compressor that further impels the sand particles
    through the nozzle.
  • You have to set the pressure it depends on the
settings. The standard pressure for the sand may
vary with 50 to 130 PSI ( pound per square
    inch).
  • The sand is later burst on the soft surface. Its
abrasive properties help in creating a
frictionless surface. For example, cement is the
outcome of sandblasting. When it is spilled and
leaves it to dry, then sandblasting is
    applicable.
  • On the other hand, mobile media blast is in
demand for many different purposes. Rust and
paint removal is the most common use of it.
Indeed it is very efficient for removing rust or
paint from any type of surface instantly.
  • It is simply done by impelling sand by applying
high compressed air. When the gritty material
hits the surface, the rust is eradicated easily.

Step 1 Decide Space For Operations
  • Clear out your workspace make sure that there
will be no harmful material around you. Usually,
flying abrasive material hit toxic materials and
cause incidents. So keep your precious belongings
safe by covering themsafe them from being
sandblasted. The space you chose for the
sandblasting process should be open and airy.

5
Step 2 Make Yourself Safe
  • Sandblasting is a very tricky and sensitive
process. For that, you have to take safety
precautions before starting it. It includes a
helmet, face masks, and Gloves. If you dont have
it, find an alternate the only thing you have to
safely is your skin. You must cover it
    completely.

6
Step 3 Set the Sandblaster
  • To start any machine, it is the primary step to
go through its manual thoroughly. As the
sandblaster has the valves on its blasting unit
and that needs to get close tight. Abrasives
materials need to be fill in the tank,  with the
help of a plastic funnel. Keep in mind that there
are many types of abrasives easily available such
as glass, silica sand, nutshell, etc.

7
Step 4 Set the Pressure Attentively
  • First, to set the pressure, open the primary air
valve and allow the tank to reach a minimum
pressure of 40 PSI. It also depends on the
different types of equipment. After a good
pressure, the tank unlocks the sand air valve.

8
Step 5 The Blasting
  • In this step of the sandblasting process, shut
down all the valves and move the nozzle against
the target. Set it on a slight angle then apply
composed motion. Stretch the target part with
    abrasives.

9
Step 6  Absolute Settings
  • Now you will gently increase the pressure to
attain the likable results. You can take the
pressure to a maximum of 100 PSI and keep examine
the outcomes. After fixing the result, keep
checking on the obtained results if optimal or
not. Close all the valve and nozzle once you
    reach to the point.

10
Conclusion
  • Sandblasting is one of the most acceptable types
of surface finishing. It is best for rough and
challenging spaces. Simply it is the process of
polishing and grading uneven surfaces by striking
solid particles. With compressed air at high
speed the process takes place placidly.
