ABOUT UNIVERSITY

• MNLU, Aurangabad commenced its journey in the
  field of imparting legal knowledge in March,
  2017.
• MNLU was established by the Maharashtra
  Government under Maharashtra National Law
  University Act (Maharashtra Act No. VI of 2014).
• Also, the commencement of the University has
  fulfilled the aspirations of the people of the
  Marathwada region for an institution of national
  importance in Aurangabad.

CAMPUS

• Currently, MNLU has three campuses in Maharashtra
  i.e, in Aurangabad, Mumbai and Nagpur.

• The University initially started in the campus of
  Govt., B.Ed College Campus at Padampura, Station
  Road, Aurangabad.
• Further, the Government of Maharashtra has
  allotted 50 acres of land for the development of
  a new campus.

HISTORY

• The Maharashtra Government realizing the
  importance of quality legal education and need of
  well-trained law graduates to the Bar, Bench and
  professions created three National Law
  Universities in the State of Maharashtra at
  Mumbai, Nagpur and Aurangabad.
• Further all the three were set up as independent
  and autonomous institutions created under the
  Maharashtra National Law University Act,2014.
• Maharashtra National Law University, Aurangabad,
  commenced its journey in the field of imparting
  legal education from March16, 2017.
• The University Grants Commission was also pleased
  to include the university under section 2(f) and
  12 (B) of the U.G.C. Act. 1956.

  schemes are being allotted to under respective
  plans (VIII Plan to XII plan).
