Indian Students Why Choose Germany for Study?
Germany is a popular destination for study abroad
for international students. The reasons why
international students choose to study in Germany
are the low cost of education, wide range of
courses on offer, the high quality of education
in world class universities, courses in English
medium, and public universities which offer free
education.

Eligibility to Study in Germany
You must be interested in learning about the
requirements to study in Germany if you have
opted to do so. Depending on whether you're
applying for undergraduate or graduate studies,
the qualifying requirements will change. If you
intend to apply for a course at the undergraduate
level, you must have finished high school. The
German Hochschulzugangsberechtigung (HZB), which
is essentially a university entrance exam, must
also be met by you. There are no particular
exams required for overseas students who want to
enrol in undergraduate programmes in Germany, but
their high school grades must meet the standards
of the institution to which they are applying.
You may need to pass the FSP or
Feststellungsprüfung to enrol in some
universities. Essentially, this exam is meant to
demonstrate your ability for taking a course.

Language Proficiency Tests to Study In Germany
Both graduate and undergraduate courses have
identical language proficiency requirements.
German is taught in many courses because it is
the official language. However, a number of
graduate and undergraduate programmes also
provide instruction in English.

Visa Requirements to Study in Germany
Once you've been accepted to a German university,
you must apply for a student visa if you want to
study there. The visa is good for the duration of
your programme. However, you must first submit a
student applicant visa application. You can
travel to Germany to take the admission tests for
the universities you've applied to using a
Student Applicant Visa. This visa's three-month
validity period may be extended for an additional
six months. This visa may be extended for a
maximum of nine months. Once you've been accepted
to a German university, you can apply for a
student visa, but you have to do so within 9
months.
