4Introduction
The main function of university is scientific
based education. But concerning the specific
study and career advancement of the students
there is also a need for business preperation.
Apart from specific education Universities should
also offer occupational qualification and
closeness to practice. New study relevant fields
of activities should be developed and the carreer
entry should be more tightly focused.
Since 1989, the career service SA at the
Department of Economic Education has been
offering the opportunity to supplement their
studies with career orientation and practical
training, to students of the University of
Cologne, enrolled in economic education and
humanities. That significantly increases their
chances on the job market.
