Title: What does this level of godly love actually look like

1
What does this level of godly love actually look
like?
  • For the whole Law is fulfilled in one word, in
the statement, "YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS
    YOURSELF." (Galatians 514)
  • If you are fulfilling the royal law according to
the Scripture, "YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS
YOURSELF," you are doing well. (James 28)

2
What Love is This?
  • Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which
    are immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry,
sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of
    anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, envying,
drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of
which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned
you, that those who practice such things will not
inherit the kingdom of God. (Galatians 519-21)

What Love is This?
  • Let us consider how to stimulate one another to
love and good deeds, not forsaking our own
assembling together, as is the habit of some, but
encouraging one another and all the more as you
see the day drawing near. (Hebrews 1024-25)

12
What Love is This?
  • Above all, keep fervent in your love for one
another, because love covers a multitude of sins.
Be hospitable to one another without complaint.
As each one has received a special gift, employ
it in serving one another as good stewards of the
manifold grace of God. (1 Peter 48-10)

13
What Love is This?
  • Let love be without hypocrisy Be devoted to one

15
What Love is This?
  • Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth,
but only such a word as is good for edification
according to the need of the moment, so that it
will give grace to those who hear. (Ephesians
    429)

16
Raising the Bar
  • Create opportunity (hospitality, words, example,
time spent together) to build up encourage all.

19
What Love is This?
  • Let love be without hypocrisy Be devoted to one
another in brotherly love give preference to one
another in honor not lagging behind in
diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord
rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation,
devoted to prayer, contributing to the needs of
    the saints, practicing hospitality.
  • Bless those who persecute you bless and do not
    curse. (Romans 129-14)

20
  • I say to you who hear, love your enemies, do
good to those who hate you, bless those who curse
you, pray for those who mistreat you. Whoever
hits you on the cheek, offer him the other also
and whoever takes away your coat, do not withhold
your shirt from him either. Give to everyone who
asks of you, and whoever takes away what is
yours, do not demand it back.
  • Treat others the same way you want them to treat
you. If you love those who love you, what credit
is that to you? For even sinners love those who
love them. If you do good to those who do good to
you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners
do the same. If you lend to those from whom you
expect to receive, what credit is that to you?
Even sinners lend to sinners in order to receive
    back the same amount.
  • But love your enemies, and do good, and lend,
expecting nothing in return and your reward will
be great, and you will be sons of the Most High
for He Himself is kind to ungrateful and evil
    men. (Luke 627-35)
