  • Reasons for problems these organisms
  • The organisms or their reproductive forms are
    shed by infected animals in large numbers
  • The organisms survive and remain infectious in
    the environment for long periods
  • Some are resistant to water treatment
  • E. Coli O157H7 can multiply outside the host if
    adequate nutrition
