• Italy is a democratic republic divided in 20
  Regions, each one on its own government.
• 5 Regions have a special statute in the 3
  frontier Regions (up to north), theres a
  bilingualism (french, german, slovenian)
• In its territory there are 2 other self-states
  Republic of San Marino and Vaticano.
• Its surface is about 301.302 square km its
  population about 56.305.568 people.
• Its national anthem, called Fratelli dItalia,
  was composed in the Risolgimental period by
  Goffredo Mameli.

ROME, the capital
Located about 20 km from the Tirrenic sea, in the
middle of Agro Pontino on the Tevere river, Rome
has a surface of 1.507.6 square km, and it lies
at the height of 20 metres up the sea. Its the
biggest and most populated town of the peninsula
(2.546.804 people). Its the center of several
bureaucratic and administrative activities and
destination of thw world tourism.
