Biographical Information

• His real name is Nelson Rolihlala Mandela.He
  was born in Transkei, South Africa on July 25th,
  1918. His Father was Chief Henry Mandela of the
  Tembu Tribe. He went on trial for treason in
  1956-1961. He was a former president of the
  African National Congress. He was also the former
  President of South Africa. He liked the music of
  Handel or Tchaikovsky. He was arrested in 1962.
  He got locked up in a cell in daylight hours
  where he would listen to a lot of music.

Building Peace .

• Nelson Mandela committed treason. He joined the
  ANC in 1944. On June 1961 the ANC considered his
  proposal on the use of violence. The ANC agreed
  that whoever wanted to join Nelson could. Nelson
  was arrested in 1962 and sentenced to 5 years in
  prison. Nelson had to do hard labour. In 1963 the
  ANC was arrested, Nelson was brought to stand
  trial with the ANC for plotting to overthrow the
  government by using violence.

Nelson Mandela Is a Peace Hero

• Nelson Mandela wanted the same rights for black
  people as white people had. Nelson Mandela was
  against racism so he spoke out against all people
  racists. He is considered a peace hero because he
  was against all forms of racism but he could not
  stop racism in the world. It is still here.
