  • 1897  Rudolf Kronenberg and Carl Prinz created
    the KRONPRINZ AG für Fahrradteile. The

    company produces
    parts for bikes and motorbikes like spoke wheels
    in wood and steel. KRONPRINZ is the first to
    produce steel wheel.
  • 1903  KRONPRINZ patents a passenger car steel
    wheel with demountable rim.
  • 1930  Start of production of passenger car
    steel wheels with disc. Before, only spoke wheels
    were on the market.
  • 1938  Mannesmann takes over the majority in
    KRONPRINZ.
  • The production includes welded
    tubes, profiles, parts for planes and passenger
    car wheels.
  • 1955  Start of production of steel wheels with
    disc for tubeless wheels.
  • 1969  Production of one-piece truck steel
    wheels (drop centre wheels).
  • 1970  Transmission of the old KRONPRINZ AG
    tube facility to the Mannesmannröhren-
  • Werke and of the wheel facility
    to the new KRONPRINZ AG (100 Mannesmann AG).
  • 1977  Mannesmann-Werke AG takes the head of
