1case study card display testing the impact of
the T-ForM software
- Test objectives
- Design a new, not existing product which could
be used as a T-ForM demonstration case. This case
is composed of several design challenges, e.g.
both male and female areas, areas with webbing/
wrinkles, small draft angles, small radii. - Compare the initial sheet thickness based on the
experience of craftsmen and calculated by
simulation.
Product details Material thin sheet PS Empera

- Conclusions
- Part optimisation by using T-ForM allowed to
- guarantee the feasibility of the design
challenges - directly propose a 1.0 mm sheet thickness -gt
material and forming cost reduction
Effect cost gain of 16 compared to craftsmen
initial proposal
Ed Swets (Batelaan Kunststoffen) People that are
less familiar with thermoforming have gained a
valuable tool with the T-ForM software. When they
import their design in the T-ForM module, they
can see for instance what should be the radii and
what the draft angle. It gives them a good idea
how to make a thermo- forming mould for the
designed product.
