- Based on t-test results, there appears to be
little observable difference between the mean
distribution of phases A-C - phase D graves, however, appear to be show an
imbalance towards the eastern end of the
cemetery. - Phase A graves form the centre of the cemetery,
with later phases radiating out like ripples in a
pond. - The cemetery would have spread out to cover more
space over time.

- There is a slight observable correlation between
easting and orientation, but hardly any real
correlation between northing and orientation. - Thus there is no significant relationship between
the orientation and location of the graves.

sample is 60 this is probably not significantly
different from the hypothesised value of 50. - The scatter-plot appears to show male graves

regularly - Shields, spears and swords (male artefact types)
- Bracelets, brooches and pendants (female artefact
types) - Based on the pivot table results, some artefact
types appear to have particular associations.

presence of spears - The presence of bracelets and pendants depends on
the presence of brooches - There appear to be the following hierarchies of
artefact types - Brooches ? pendants ? bracelets

- Phase D graves make up 36 of the total sample
- Based on the chi-squared test, it would appear
that there is no relation between grave phase and
level of wealth. - So ultimately the bar chart is misleading due to
the bias in the raw data thanks to the sampling
method so no apparent relation between wealth
and phase.
