    specific industry barriers (i.e., basic literacy,
    language barriers)

    to employment, rather which barriers exist)

Using the Application RFP Response Document
  • The RFP Response document is a Microsoft Word
    form-field document. It is designed to have
    information typed into the grey boxes of the
    line/area space provided.
  • Applicants will need to save the form document to
    their local computer before entering data.
  • Text formatting has been pre-selected. Boxes may
    expand as the user types their responses until
    the maximum box size is reached. Users are
    encouraged not to modify any text formats outside
    the grey boxes.

  • How much can I apply for?
  • The average range for funding will be based on
    the type of grant you apply
  • Workforce Partnership grants (75,000 - 150,000)
  • System Change grants (25,000 - 100,000)
  • Funding awards will be for a period of one-year
  • What happens after I submit the application?
  • The LAWFC Committee will review each application
    for funding received and score them using
    criteria defined in the Application for Funding
    package. Based on the initial scoring,
    applications with merit may be contacted for
    interview or site visitAll applicants will be
    notified of their status for funding on/by June
    18, 2008. Please refer to the RFP Timeline.
  • What if I miss the application deadline?
  • We regret that we cannot accept late
    applications. You will need to re-apply during
    the next announcement for funding, as available.
  • Can I submit my application early?
  • Yes. To receive your application early, please
    contact the Program Officer for arrangements and
    proper record of receipt.
  • May I receive assistance with my application?
  • Yes, technical assistance is available by
    submitting written questions, with response to
    each question returned to all applicants.
    Additionally, a Technical Assistance session is
    scheduled for April 16, 2008, from 130-330 p.m.
    to help clarify any last questions by the
    applicant. Please note that all sessions is
    optional and will be conducted in a group
    setting.
