- Named it Dakota Wokiksuye Makoce Park, which
means Land of Memories Park. - Founded in 1980

Wacipi Pow-wow
- Park was given to the tribe primarily as a place
for the Wacipi Pow-wow. - The pow-wow was first held in 1972 in Key City
Park. - Moved to Sibley Park in 1974.
