  • Named it Dakota Wokiksuye Makoce Park, which
    means Land of Memories Park.
  • Founded in 1980

  • Park was given to the tribe primarily as a place
    for the Wacipi Pow-wow.
  • The pow-wow was first held in 1972 in Key City
    Park.
  • Moved to Sibley Park in 1974.
