was the need to discuss 1278 life cycle - SAC presentation/discussion communicated
requirements for continued 1278 maintenance - 1278 family must be re-affirmed/modified or they
will be automatically withdrawn by IEEE - Recommendation Non-HLA folks need to join SISC

- Explanation Define current state of technology
in various Non-HLA technologies - DIS, CORBA, Web-based, Entertainment based, New
protocols, etc.. - Low paper submissions for CORBA, Web, other
- Most papers were DIS or proprietary/COTS
- Recommendation Forum still has interest in
keeping Non-HLA rather than just DIS

survivability of Non-HLA Forum
- Explanation Does Non-HLA Forum need to continue
to exist at SIW? - 90 say they will return
- Few comments on virtual forum concept, but all
positive - Recommendation Continue Non-HLA as a virtual
forum

- SISC re-affirmation of 1278 family to start soon
- Try to expand Non-DIS part of Non-HLA
