Unemployed 18 24 year olds in London
- Unemployment amongst 18 24 year olds is rising
in London. - We need to support this group to help ensure they
do not lose touch with the labour market - Extra help is required to give those still out of
work at 12 month stage a real opportunity to gain
work experience and develop their skills for
future.

Support from Jobcentre Plus
- Data is available from Office for national
Statistics database and for ease is available
today in handout. - Jobcentre Plus will be a key partner in the
referral and support process for Future Jobs Fund
employers. - People will be referred to Future Jobs Fund
employers following discussions with their
Personal Advisers. - Close partnership working is critical to ensuring
we are able to send the right candidates and that
opportunities afford the participants with best
possible outcomes.

Support from Jobcentre Plus Referral Process
- Expectations that in most cases candidates will
be referred to - employer by Jobcentre Plus.
- Some individuals may self-present to the
employer, or may be - identified by them directly. In these
situations, Jobcentre Plus will - need to confirm an individuals eligibility.
- Future Jobs Fund employers will be encouraged to
sign a Local - Employment Partnership (LEP) with Jobcentre
Plus. - Future Jobs Fund employers will not be required
to take on any - particular individual who is referred to them
although there will be - requirement for young people to participate.
