Title: HB1 sourcing TB2006 Alexi Mestvirishvili University of Iowa
1HB1 sourcing TB2006 Alexi MestvirishviliUnivers
ity of Iowa
2006 Fall HCAL meeting
2- Results only from HB1
- Source used 5mCi
- Comparison of two
different scans - August 30th, CALIB 5 (First scan)
- Sept 19th, CALIB 5 (Last scan)
- Expected Signal value 0.20-0.40 chan. above
pedestal - Before actual sourcing all tubes were scanned
with dummy wire - to determine bad tubes
Missing layers tubes were declared as bad

3Problems
By default one file per tube (layer)
Expected only one peak
From time to time run control was putting the
data from several layers into one file. To
distinguish layer from layer one needs to use
index number available in the data otherwise
data are ok
Data from several different layers in the same
file

9Results Uncertainty
Relative uncertainty (??in -??out )/?? for
towers (summation over layers)
First scan -- 0.60
Result from HB SX5 sourcing for towers 0.6
Last scan -- 0.52
10Summary
- Two different scan of HB1 during TB2006 shows
good consistency - Absolute uncertainty for tiles were determined as
?in - ?out - where ? is pedestal subtracted signal
value - Calibration precision for each individual tile is
at the order 1.9 - Precision for towers is at the order 0.5 0.6
- Those numbers are in perfect agreement with the
HB source calibration - at SX5
