Title: What is a ToastMentor

1
What is a ToastMentor? If you are an
experienced Toastmaster who would like to serve a
club with 13-19 members and help it get to 20
members, being a ToastMentor is for you.
ToastMentors serve as part of the Districts
Club Rescue Program. In this program, Area
Governors and other leaders help clubs to
diagnose what is keeping the club from being at
20 members and then encourage the club to be open
to opportunities to rebuild and sustain the club.
  • ToastMentors are experienced Toastmasters who
    commit to
  • Assist a club with 13-19 members, working closely
    with leadership of the club.
  • Provide specific type of assistance, such as
ideas for a membership drives, help in improving
    a web page or newsletter.
  • Use experience, knowledge and networks to assist
the club to identify and resolve deficiencies
that contribute to the club being under 20
    members.
  • ToastMentors are different from Club Coaches
  • The difference between a Club Coach and a
ToastMentor is that the Club Coach works with
clubs having 12 or fewer members the ToastMentor
works with clubs having 13 - 19 members.
  • The Club Coach receives official Toastmasters
International recognition and credit towards an
    Advanced Leader-Silver (ALS) award. The
ToastMentor may frame his/her service in a High
Performance Leadership Project or use it to meet
    certain Competent Leadership projects. These
    individuals will receive District recognition,
but they will not receive ALS award credit.
  • The Club Coach typically makes a long-term
commitment of up to 2 years. The ToastMentor
commitment is for one or several specific
shorter-term activities that will help the club.
