ProgramResidents experience the following
  • Well Balanced Mix of Surgery.
  • Forefoot, Rearfoot, Ankle, Charcot
    Reconstruction, External Fixation.
  • Extremely high surgical case numbers
  • In-patient management
  • ER Call
  • Clinic
  • Excellent rotations
  • Internal Medicine, General / Vascular Surgery,
    Plastic Surgery, Radiology, Anesthesia, ER, Wound
    Care, Orthopaedic Trauma, Pedorthics, etc.
  • Residents scrub with Podiatry and Orthopaedic
    attendings on a daily basis.

  • Residents average at least 800-1000 procedures
    per year.
  • Weekly journal club and book club with monthly
    case reviews.
  • PRESENT Courseware lectures.
  • M M conferences.
  • 1 month per year orthopaedic trauma rotation at
    the University of Alabama-Birmingham.
  • Research Each resident required to work on one
    research project.

Facilities Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare
Wauwatosa
  • This is our primary facility and one of the bases
    for podiatry residents. Residents perform many
    of their procedures here and take call for the
    Urgent Care. This is a new facility with state of
    the art technology.
  • 6 surgical suites.
  • Hyperbaric Wound Care Center.
  • CT, MRI.
  • Urgent Care.
  • Physical Therapy.

    patients and perform surgery.
  • They also do excellent medical and surgical
    rotations at this facility.
  • E.R., Radiology, Internal Medicine, Anesthesia,
    General / Vascular Surgery, Plastic Surgery,
    Wound Care, etc.
  • Residents also take ER call at this facility,
    which gives them excellent exposure to trauma.

  • At Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare - St. Joseph
    Podiatric Residency Program, the residents
    perform an excellent mixture of surgery with a
    variety of forefoot, midfoot, hindfoot, ankle,
    and reconstructive surgery.
  • Residents are also involved in diabetic footcare,
    wound care, and clinic with the attending staff.
