20-year-old Cohutta man died in a single-car
wreck at 3980 Standing Road in northwest
Whitfield County Tuesday afternoon, officials
said.Dewayne Allen Dotson, of 4615 Forester
Road, was killed when his 1995 Toyota Camry left
the road and went down an embankment, said
officers who responded to the scene.

deserves to die like this. This could have been

Sunday morning when he fell from the 24th floor
of a beachside hotel while trying to get a better
look at the sunrise, police said. Barret Forst
Ugland was pronounced dead at the scene after
falling from the balcony at the Ocean Walk
Resort, 300 N. At lantic Ave. The fall occurred
about 7 a.m. Sunday.

When 15-year-old Olivier Baptiste refused to hand
over the video game he was playing to his
18-year-old friend William Suarez, Suarez pulled
out a .32-caliber Smith and Wesson from his
waistband and shot Baptiste in the head. This
according to police, who have charged the alleged
killer with manslaughter, illegal possession of a
firearm, assault with a dangerous weapon, and
discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a
dwelling.

A 13-year-old Robert Lewis Middle School
student died Thursday after passing out at the
school. Jamie Lewis was taken by ambulance to
Natchez Community Hospital from Robert Lewis
Middle School, where she initially collapsed
after leaving one of the schools
bathrooms. Adams County Coroner James Lee said
while Lewis was responsive when she left the
school, she became unresponsive once at the
hospital and later died. Lee said he was unable
to determine a cause of death for Lewis.

MIAMI, Florida (CNN) -- A 12-year-old boy was
pronounced dead after he rode a roller coaster at
Disney-MGM Studios in Orlando, Florida, on
Thursday, according to the Orange County
Sheriff's Office. Michael Russell, of Fort
Campbell, Kentucky, was riding the Rock 'n'
Roller Coaster ride with his mom, dad and
7-year-old brother, Sgt. Carlos Torres said.
After the ride stopped, Russell and his family
were stepping out of the roller coaster car when
he collapsed, Torres said. Russell's father began
administering CPR and was later aided by a Disney
assistant, but the boy was not responsive.
Russell was then transported by ambulance to
Celebration Hospital, where he was pronounced
dead.

• The tragic death of a South Carolina 10-year-old
  more than an hour after he had gone swimming has
  focused a spotlight on the little-known
  phenomenon called dry drowning and warning
  signs that every parent should be aware of.
• Ive never known a child could walk around,
  talk, speak and their lungs be filled with
  water, Cassandra Jackson told NBC News in a
  story broadcast Thursday on TODAY.
• On Sunday, Jackson had taken her son, Johnny, to
  a pool near their home in Goose Creek, S.C. It
  was the first time hed ever gone swimming and,
  tragically, it would be his last.
