• They made maps of rivers, lakes, mountains, and
  plains.

• Sacagawea was an American Indian that helped
  Lewis Clark on their trips. She was an
  interpreter for Lewis Clark. She pointed out
  plants that were edible and other plants that
  could be used as medicine.

Harriet Tubman

• Harriet Tubman was a African American that lead
  slaves to freedom. She helped other African
  Americans escape using the Underground Railroad.
  It was not a real railroad. It was a long secret
  walk with houses to stop at along the walk.

  United States.
• President Roosevelt loved nature and he started
  many natural parks. The teddy bear was named
  after Theodore Roosevelt.
