11Transfer Student FeedbackThe greater danger for
most of us lies not in setting our aim too high
and falling short, but in setting our aim too low
and achieving our mark. (Michelangelo)
- I was pretty scared because I didnt know if my
past experience prepared me for the kind of paper
a Stanford professor would expect. I got an A! I
was really overjoyed. I was like, Yes, I can do
this. I can work as hard as I worked at Foothill
and Im smart enough to get As at Stanford. -
- After being rejected from every college I had
applied to in high school, it was hard for me to
believe that I was capable of changing. But
through the honors program I achieved the
academic goals I only dreamed of. The honors
program gave me the confidence and assurance that
I can achieve my goals. Six years ago I made a
promise to my mom that I was going to make it to
a UC. It turns out that I told the truth! - Im doing great at UC Davis! My first quarter I
finished with 2 As, an A and an A- last
quarter I finished with 3 As and and A. Ive
been designated as a First Year Scholar.
Foothill has totally prepared me for the rigor of
a 4 year university. The fact that Foothill is on
the quarter system puts us ahead of the game as
most transfers come from the semester system.
12Transfer Issues and Challenges Unique to Foothill
- Difficulty in obtaining transfer data from
independent/out-of-state universities. - Admission or course articulation guarantees
rarely offered by highly selective universities. - Transfer student rates and definition currently
excludes prospective graduate and professional
school students and students who transfer to
private/out-of-state institutions. (30 of FH
students have BA/BS degree or higher).
Foothill College The most beautiful community
college ever built.
