Purpose
  • To support service providers to develop a
    detailed, well costed plan to implement the new
    quality system
  • To ensure that the mission and core values of the
    organisation drives their quality system
  • Confirmation of certification date

  • 3 sections

  • Plan and budget
  • NB Budget pages do not need to be submitted to
    DSQ but are critical for plan to be implemented
    effectively

Ideally, the plan would
  • Reflect the mission and core values
  • Demonstrate a clear intention to involve
    stakeholders (ongoing)
  • Be realistic and fully costed
  • Be aligned with other business activities (e.g.
    strategic plan, HR plan, financial plan, HACC
    assessment etc)

  • As a group, identify 4 or 5 criteria for
    evaluating your draft plan at the end of today's
    workshop

  • Involvement in planning networking activities
    etc

  • Existing resources (e.g. aligning training and
    induction budget with implementation plan)
  • Existing activities (e.g. adding quality as an
    agenda item to staff and committee meetings,
    existing stakeholder forums newsletters)
  • Outsource to learning and development providers
    (economy from sharing with other agencies)
  • Financial assistance from DSQ

Plan evaluation
  • Evaluate the draft plan and timeline in
    accordance with the criteria developed earlier
  • Adjust plan as required

  • Present draft plan to relevant others for
    feedback and ratification e.g.
  • Staff
  • Management committee
  • Other stakeholder groups (e.g. steering group)
  • Submit plan (with or without budget) to DSQ
  • Communicate the plan to all stakeholders
  • Follow through with plan complete scheduled
    reviews
