Built-in Forward Error Correction (FEC)
  • Error on any data channel is detected by CRC
    check.
  • Bad channels data block is reconstructed from
    Protection (parity) channel and good channels
  • If channels are reversed (ribbon flipped),
    logic detects and compensates
    automatically.
  • FEC included because easy probably not needed

  • Allows more dispersion than SR-1
