A little about Miss Parr
  • Im a Birdville High School Graduate
  • I graduated in 2006 from UT at Austin (Hook Em,
    Horns!)
  • This is my 2nd year teaching
  • My favorite play I directed was Words, Words,
    Words by David Ives
  • I love grammar and writing!
  • I choreographed BHSs musical last year!

6th Grade Theatre
  • 6th Grade Theatre is a class that teaches a few
    basics of theatre arts. In this class we will be
    exploring theatre through movement, voice, stage,
    behind the scenes, and improvisation. The
    students in this class will also get the chance
    to work in groups on several projects, as well as
    by themselves!
  • Look at it as a chance to have fun aside from
    your daily activities! ?

7th Grade Theatre
  • 7th grade theatre is a class for 7th graders to
    take a closer look at theatre and theatre
    history. The students will get a chance to
    explore Greek Theatre, play productions, solo and
    duet scenes, group pantomime scenes, voice work,
    movement, technical theatre, and Def Poetry Jams.
  • This class is great for the little performer to
    come out of his or her shell and create with his
    or her classmates! ?

8th Grade Theatre
  • 8th grade theatre is my production class. While
    some students are brand-new to theatre, others
    have taken this class all three years. While
    learning (or re-learning) theatre vocabulary, we
    will work on the main aspects of putting on a
    play which include
  • Acting, directing, critiquing, researching,
    designing, playwriting, publicizing,
    work-shopping, and many more!
  • Students in this class will work together to do
    most of their projects and will learn important
    parts of theatre arts, including Theatre History.
    Shakespearean Theatre, and How to Audition! ?

  • While preparing for the TAKS test, students in
    this class will be exploring and finding their
    writing style. They will also be learning
    sentence structures, grammar, the writing
    process, types of writing, and much, much more!
  • Be ready for research papers, creative writing,
    and writing of stories! ?
