Why Assess?
  • On-going assessment tells you where you are
    required in AZ for all Title IID competitive
    grantees and formula grantees over 30K
  • Provides AZ with baseline data on student
    performance as prescribed by NCLB districts get
    reliable performance data for designing 21st
    Century learning opportunities
  • Without solid commitment, technology programs may
    wander off course, waste time, focus, and money
  • Assessment, especially in technology, has been
    neglected while millions of dollars have been
    invested over the past two decades
  • Without assessment, tech programs are implemented
    on faith. Assessment gives focus and
    customizes efforts to derive value from
    investment.

What is TechLiteracy Assessment?
  • Developed in response to districts needs
  • Two levels of Technology Literacy Assessment
  • Elementary Version (grades 3-5)
  • Middle School Version (grades 6-8)
  • Reading levels
  • Grade 3 for Elementary Version
  • Grade 6 for Middle School Version
  • Tested at 5 and 8 (and 9) for AZ

  • Assesses through multiple choice
    (knowledge-based) questions and authentic
    (performance-based) items.
