17What do we know about Barnabas?
18What would have been some good reasons to keep
Barnabas in Jerusalem?
19What would be evidence of the grace of God?
20Acts 1123 The Message
- When the church in Jerusalem got wind of this,
they sent Barnabas to Antioch to check on things.
As soon as he arrived, he saw that God was behind
and in it all. He threw himself in with them, got
behind them, urging them to stay with it the rest
of their lives. He was a good man that way,
enthusiastic and confident in the Holy Spirit's
ways. The community grew large and strong in the
Master.
21Philippians 48-9 (NASB)
- Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is
honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure,
whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute,
if there is any excellence and if anything worthy
of praise, dwell on these things. The things you
have learned and received and heard and seen in
me, practice these things, and the God of peace
will be with you.
22The Jerusalem church shared one of their key
(wealthy) leaders.
