What is the CEPRI ?

• A French organization
• Born in December 2006 in Orléans
• Developped from all the French actors will,
  working on the field of flood risk prevention
• Members French local authorities all over
  France
• A main objective
• Become the French reference center about
  mitigation
• With a wide opening in Europe (Best practise
  guide, Floods directive, Excimap, other European
  group on vulnerability)

Why the CEPRI ?

• Flooding is the first natural risk in France
• A complete prevention policy
• A demanding regulation (crisis management,
  planification, public awareness)
• Integrated River Basin Programs
• 5 Plans on the biggest river basins in France
  (Plan Seine, Plan Loire, Plan Rhône, Plan Meuse,
  Plan Garonne)
• 50 PAPI on smallest river basins (Charente,
  Vidourle, Maine) focusing on flood risk
• A strengthened European policy

  elaborated French prevention policies

• Three main missions for the CEPRI
• Help public authorities implementing flood
  prevention policy
• Provide a place where resources on flood
  prevention can be capitalized and transfered
• Relay local authorities interests to National
  and European levels
