  • In your groups
  • Define inheritance polymorphism

9
  • Inheritance Classes which extend other classes
    automatically inherit (include) methods and
    variables from them.
  • E.g. Call a getter or setter from Person on a
    Teacher object
  • Polymorphism A class can be treated as an
instance of any of the classes in its
    inheritance hierarchy (remembering casting it
done automatically up the inheritance hierarchy,
but must be done manually when going down the
inheritance hierarchy, for polymorphism to work).
  • E.g. Store a Teacher object in a Person reference

10
  • Any problems/questions with this?

11
  • How do you write a static method?
  • In this example why does the method need to be
    static?

12
