• Wisdom is knowing how to use what you know
• Expect to be changed
• Let the power of Gods word work in you

Realize Nature of Scripture

• The New Testament is the commandment of the Lord
  (1 Cor. 1437)
• The New Testament is our sole authority in
  doctrine under Gods new covenant
• The Old Covenant has been abolished by Christ
  (Eph. 214-15)
• The Old Testament is profitable for our learning
  (Rom. 154)
• Scripture is sufficient (2 Tim. 316, 17)

Look for Gods Will

• Direct command or explicit statement
• Specific commands (law of exclusion) Acts 238
• Generic commands ("go, preach" Mark 1615)
• Examples approved by God (Acts 1129-30)
• Necessary inference (1 Cor. 162 Acts 207)
• By this authority we do those things which are
  expedient to obeying God's will
• We must not go beyond that for which we have
  authority 1 Cor. 46

Make Application

• Apply yourself to the Bible
• Apply the Bible to yourself (James 122-25)
• Study to show thyself approved unto God, a
  workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly
  dividing the word of truth. (2 Tim.
  215)
