Title: A Great Commission Focus on Ethnolinguistic People Groups
1A Great Commission Focus on Ethnolinguistic
People Groups
- In the Scripture and Consequentially Among
Insulated and Isolated Unreached Peoples - Models are Very Important
2Models in a G.C. UEPG Focus
- Models God developed within developing Israel
- Models God developed within the Disciples
- The Model of the Great Commission
- The Model of the New Testament Church
- Models we need to develop as we evangelize
unreached ethnolinguistic people groups
3Models God Developed As He Developed Israel as
ta ethne, the People of God
- Abraham as the Father of the Ethne and the flow
of Gods message and blessing through Abrahams
lineage to the coming of the Saviour - Abraham and Isaac model of God His Son as
Saviour of the world
4Models God Developed As He Developed Israel as
ta ethne, the People of God
- Abraham as the Father of the Ethne and the flow
of Gods message and blessing through Abrahams
lineage to the coming of the Saviour - Abraham and Isaac model of God His Son as
Saviour of the world
5Models God Developed As He Developed Israel as
ta ethne, the People of God
- Israel the Hebrew am as the people of God
in contrast to the goyeme, other ethnics
outside Israel - The Passover that God gave as a model of coming
Saviour, His death, of end times, and Church
celebration
6Models God Developed As He Developed Israel as
ta ethne, the People of God
- Israel the Congregation of God in the
wilderness and all of the symbols seen in the
wilderness wandering - The Tabernacle as the model for church
- The entire Sacrifice system in O.T. as a model
for Christs sacrifice
7Models God Developed As He Developed Israel as
ta ethne, the People of God
- The prophet as preacher, fore-teller and
forth-teller that God raised up and sent out to
Israel and to the ta ethne (translated as
nations in English versions of the Bible) - Baptism that Christ modeled gave for
celebrating new birth within His congregations - The Man of Peace is a N.T. model
8Models God Developed As He Developed Israel as
ta ethne, the People of God
- The Lords Supper an extension of the
Passover as a model that Christ himself modeled
as means of perpetuating within local churches
the memory of His sacrifice - Christ Church/es as a real and actual model of
tearing down the bastions of Satan
9Distorted or Changed Models
- Israel wanting a human as king instead of God as
king. This mistake of Israel runs all through
the Old and New Testaments - The Tabernacle and the Congregation of Israel
instead of a Temple and Clergy as the model for
church. Notice that Jesus never accepted the
Temples (in Jerusalem or Samaria) as His model
and foretold their destruction. - Thus the King of Israel the Sanhedrin and its
resultant distorted priesthood as central instead
of the Church--the Congregation with Christ as
the Bride, the Head of His churches as central
10The Great Commission and His Churches As His Model
- We are to go out and establish Christs churches
with Him as the Bride among each and every ta
ethne ethnic people group that exists which goes
back to Abraham and runs as a them through the
entire Old Testament - Each church is to bring into it new born
disciples, Christs disciples who themselves make
disciples, who perpetuate the model of Baptism,
who teach as Jesus taught and what Jesus taught
to church members and their disciples until
Christ returns for His people
11The New Testament Church Becomes our Model
- We understand from the New Testament that God
wanted those early disciples, as God in Christ
had taught them, to move among the ethne from
Jerusalem to the uttermost planting churches,
model churches, who could go on to plant other
churches based upon that model - We have committed ourselves to plant model New
Testament churches among each ethne and move away
from other models as Jesus moved away from Temple
and its poor model
