This year VBS participants time-traveled to Old
Jerusalem.

In the perfume tent kids selected fragrant herbs
to make sachets.

Kids played games of skill and strategy in the
game tent.

They learned folk dances.

They sampled Middle-Eastern foods like hummus,
falafel, baklava and dates

along with more familiar fare.

The candy-making tent was a popular stop.

There were games from Old Jerusalem, like
discus-throw and tug-of-war

and a form of hopscotch.

A tax collector and Roman soldier completed the
scene.

Every tribe attended synagogue school.

There were daily dramas about Jesus.

The sage helped kids understand the days lessons.

Opening and closing gatherings were always
high-energy fun.

Meanwhile, middle school students had their own
classes in The Well.

They had contests, like seeing which team could
build the tallest Tower of Babel

and they ran relay races in chocolate pudding.

They made a mosaic.

Magic Water was our mission project. It helps
kids with cancer. We raised 1584.

This year over 170 kids attended VBS, 64 of them
from outside our church.

VBS is a time to make new friends, and reconnect
with old ones.
