WG4/SG3 February Meeting

• I attended the WG4/SG3 meeting in Orlando,
  February 1-2, 2001.
• I made presentation to the committee on
  conformance.

Conformance Presentation

• The author of each mode must provide to WG3/SG1
  the conformance parameters for their mode.
• Parameters must cover all areas required to
  insure the interoperability of interrogators and
  tags in an open system.
• Interrogators and tags will be tested separately.

Conformance Presentation

• Parameters to be tested will have pass/fail
  results.
• Any graded parameters will be part of the
  Performance document.
• Conformance tests requiring a golden
  interrogator or a golden tag will not be
  acceptable.

WG4/SG3 Progress

• SG3 will attempt to have each mode become an
  independent 18000 part.
• March SG3 meeting in Adelaide will be devoted to
  SG3 members critiquing others modes to attempt
  to reduce the number of modes.
• June SG3 meeting in Provence will be final review
  of modes before CD status.

Future Plans

• I will attend the WG3 meeting in Provence to
  follow the progress of the modes and maintain
  pressure for the mode authors to provide
  conformance parameters.
• I urged the mode authors to attend the December
  WG3/SG1 meeting in San Diego as it follows an SG3
  meeting in San Diego.
