Action on review comments
  • "Multimedia and Communication Networks seems
weak, both in terms of definition of the area and
of industrial collaboration. This shall be
reviewed at the next 12 month review and if not
more advanced, it might be appropriate for the
consortium to reconsider the validity of
maintaining this application area within Hycon
    activities."

13
Action on review comments
  • "Multimedia and Communication Networks seems
weak, both in terms of definition of the area and
of industrial collaboration. This shall be
reviewed at the next 12 month review and if not
more advanced, it might be appropriate for the
consortium to reconsider the validity of
maintaining this application area within Hycon
    activities.
  • Modify the name of WP4d to more appropriate
    Networked Control
  • Emphasized in D4d.1.1 and D4d.1.2 the definition
of the area to be industrial control over
wireless networks and the strong industrial
    involvement
  • Need to stress definition and collaboration in
further communication with the Commission and the
    Reviewers
  • Note that WP4d is not as mature as WP4abc, but
has a major potential and integrates key
    technologies for networked embedded systems

14
Joint Program of Activities Plan M13-M30
  • M13-M18
  • As planned, i.e., deliverables, milestones etc.
  • D4d.2.2 Hybrid modelling and control for selected
    case studies
  • Control of multi-robot systems over distributed
    wireless communication for industrial automation
  • Distributed and hybrid control of resources in
    actuator and sensor networks
  • Active engagement of industrial partners (e.g.,
ABB, Comau, Ericsson, FOI, Selenia, Schneider,
    Thales)
  • M19-M30
  • Tasks
  • Focus on multi-agent industrial control systems
    over wireless networks
  • Define test cases and test beds
  • Design and operation of control over wireless
    systems
  • Deliverables (two deliverables, related to
    research reports)
  • Milestones (two milestones, related to decisions
    on cases and diss.)

15
Experimental activities and test beds
  • Given the strong interest in the industrial
    control community (e.g., automotive
manufacturing), we will focus on this domain to
obtain relevant and interesting case studies and
test beds that will expose the potential of our
    approaches.
  • Define a standard application interface for
control to enable the deployment of wireless
networks (with particular emphasis on ad hoc WSN)
    with minimal effort
  • Integrate into a common platform and let, e.g.,
patches of sensors be accessed (and operated)
    from a unique web interface

16
Budget Plan M13-M30
  • M13-M18
  • As planned
  • M19-M30
  • Funded commitment for UCL and LTH
  • Else follow present distribution
