- A tool that helps us

(CCSSE)
- The 38-item Community College Survey of Student
Engagement (CCSSE) is used to assess the
following five benchmarks of effective
educational practice - Active Collaborative Learning
- Student Effort
- Academic Challenge
- Student Faculty Interaction
- Support for Learners

- A total of 679 credit students in 68 curriculum
courses at the Main campus, NDC, and the OCSDC
were surveyed in the spring of 2005. - A random sample of 68 courses was

Mayland, Southwestern, Surry, Tri-County,
Wayne, Western Piedmont - The means (arithmetic average) of DTCC
student responses were compared to the 10 other
schools in the NC Consortia - () indicate responses above the mean (-)
