• Philip. 25-11 Your attitude should be the same
  as that of Christ Jesus 6Who, being in very
  nature God, did not consider equality with God
  something to be grasped, 7but made himself
  nothing, taking the very nature of a servant,
  being made in human likeness. 8And being found
  in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and
  became obedient to death-- even death on a cross!
  Therefore God exalted him to the highest place
  and gave him the name that is above every name,
  10that at the name of Jesus every knee should
  bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
  11and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is
  Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

• 1. Displays an attitude of HUMILITY.
• Matthew 1129 Take my yoke upon you and learn
  from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and
  you will find rest for your souls.

What makes us tick? What motivates us to action?

• OUR ATTITUDE Humility is an attitude of the
  heart!
• Prov. 423 Above all else, guard your heart, for
  it is the wellspring of life.

• 2. Realizes the VALUE of a humble heart!
• Proverbs 112 When pride comes, then comes
  disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.

Humility in us

• Brings us to salvation. Ps. 1494
• Allows us to be teachable and to grow. Jam. 46
• Leads to riches, honor and life. Prov. 224
• Produces Gods blessings. Mt. 53
• Assures us of Gods abiding presence. Is 5715

• 3. Seeks to PLEASE his Master!
• Matthew 2521 "His master replied, 'Well done,
  good and faithful servant! You have been faithful
  with a few things I will put you in charge of
  many things. Come and share your master's
  happiness!'

• Matthew 2026-28 whoever wants to become great
  among you must be your servant, and whoever wants
  to be first must be your slave-- just as the Son
  of Man did not come to be served, but to serve,
  and to give his life as a ransom for many."

The Humble Servant

• Understands Gods Big Picture.
• Realize they are not above any task.
• Senses the need and takes the initiative.
• Living a life of greater and greater dependence
  upon the Lord serving the Lord out of a heart
  of love for Him!

• 4. Will be GREATLY rewarded!
• Col. 323-24 Whatever you do, work at it with all
  your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men,
  since you know that you will receive an
  inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the
  Lord Christ you are serving.
• We all stand before an audience of ONE!

• Will be greatly rewarded - You can bank on it!
• Your reward may be sooner than you think!
• Rev. 2212 "Behold, I am coming soon! My reward
  is with me, and I will give to everyone according
  to what he has done.
