3- I was born in Hanau Germany in 1997 and moved to
the United States when I was just three years old.
Frankfurt Flughafen The day we left for America.
4I want to learn German because it is a huge part
of my heritage.I want to discover more about
where my family came from and rediscover the
customs and traditions that I experienced when I
was younger.I also want to be able to
communicate with my family that is still living
in Germany.
This is my Oma and Opa with my cousins. I am the
baby sitting on my Omas lap and my brother is
sitting next to me on the left.
5My Opa
- My Opa was born in East Germany and escaped
from there with his younger sister when he was a
young man by crossing the border and climbing the
barbed wire in 1952. The Wall was built in 1961.
6My Family
My family doesnt just live in Germany, but also
in Switzerland and Liechtenstein.

- I wanted to learn more about the history and
people of Germany. - The topic for the contest was Someone Who
Touched Many Lives and I chose to research and
speak about Anne Frank. - I won third place in my school.
