2Camp Knollwood
When I arrived at Camp Knollwood, I felt like I
was in the story The City Mouse and the Country
Mouse. I was the city mouse going to the
country for two weeks. I couldnt believe my
eyes or nose when the bus pulled into camp.
Everything was green. The camp was in the middle
of a forest of evergreen trees. The trees were
very tall and smelled like Christmas. Over by
the evergreens were many tents. The tents were
small, blue, and floppy. Each tent had two beds
and two orange crates for two campers. The beds
were pretty lumpy, and they smelled like soap.
The orange crates didnt hold much, so we put
some things under our beds.
3 The food at camp was very different. We had
lots of cookouts. My favorite things were bug
juice, smores, pocket stew, outdoor spaghetti,
and fruit kabobs. Everything tasted
great. After two weeks, I was happy to get back
to the city. My bed wasnt lumpy, and I had a
real dresser for my clothes. But I missed camp
food, so I taught my family how to make smores
and fruit kabobs.
