JOHN 1518 164 Faithful witnesses

• 16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and
  appointed you to go and bear fruit fruit that
  will last. Then the Father will give you whatever
  you ask in my name.
• 17 This is my command Love each other.
• 18 If the world hates you, keep in mind that it
  hated me first. 19 If you belonged to the world,
  it would love you as its own. As it is, you do
  not belong to the world, but I have chosen you
  out of the world. That is why the world hates
  you.
• 20 Remember the words I spoke to you 'No servant
  is greater than his master.' If they persecuted
  me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed
  my teaching, they will obey yours also. 21 They
  will treat you this way because of my name, for
  they do not know the One who sent me.
• 22 If I had not come and spoken to them, they
  would not be guilty of sin. Now, however, they
  have no excuse for their sin.

• 23 He who hates me hates my Father as well. 24 If
  I had not done among them what no-one else did,
  they would not be guilty of sin. But now they
  have seen these miracles, and yet they have hated
  both me and my Father. 25 But this is to fulfil
  what is written in their Law 'They hated me
  without reason.'
• 26 When the Counsellor comes, whom I will send to
  you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who goes
  out from the Father, he will testify about me. 27
  And you also must testify, for you have been with
  me from the beginning.
• 16 1 All this I have told you so that you will
  not go astray. 2 They will put you out of the
  synagogue in fact, a time is coming when anyone
  who kills you will think he is offering a service
  to God. 3 They will do such things because they
  have not known the Father or me. 4 I have told
  you this, so that when the time comes you will
  remember that I warned you. I did not tell you
  this at first because I was with you.

• OPPOSITION is a CERTAINTY 1518-25
• Because we dont belong to the world 18-19
• If the world hates you, keep in mind that it
  hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it
  would love you as its own. As it is, you do not
  belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of
  the world. That is why the world hates you.

• OPPOSITION is a CERTAINTY 1518-25
• Because we dont belong to the world 18-19
• 1 John 215-16 Do not love the world or
  anything in the world. If you love the world,
  love for the Father is not in you. For
  everything in the worldthe cravings of sinful
  people, the lust of their eyes and their boasting
  about what they have and docomes not from the
  Father but from the world.
• 2 Timothy 312 everyone who wants to live a
  godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted

• Because we belong to Jesus 20-21
• Remember the words I spoke to you 'No
  servant is greater than his master.' If they

• OPPOSITION is a CERTAINTY 1518-25
• Because we belong to Jesus 20-21
• 1 Peter 29-10 But you are a chosen people, a
  royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special
  possession, that you may declare the praises of
  him who called you out of darkness into his
  wonderful light. Once you were not a people, but
  now you are the people of God once you had not
  received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

• OPPOSITION is a CERTAINTY 1518-25
• Because the world rejects Jesus 22-25
• If I had not come and spoken to them,
  they would not be guilty of sin. Now, however,
  they have no excuse for their sin. He who hates
  me hates my Father as well. If I had not done
  among them what no-one else did, they would not
  be guilty of sin. But now they have seen these
  miracles, and yet they have hated both me and my
  Father. But this is to fulfil what is written in
  their Law 'They hated me without reason.

• To be faithful in witness 1526-27

• To be faithful in witness 1526-27
• Acts 18 But you will receive power when the
  Holy Spirit comes on you and you will be my
  witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and
  Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.
• 1 Peter 315 But in your hearts revere Christ as
  Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to
  everyone who asks you to give the reason for the
  hope that you have. But do this with gentleness
  and respect

• To be firm in commitment 161-4
• All this I have told you so that you will not go
