• Blue Angel FE engine oils
• - Ian Field presented detailed FE-test
  results with the DB
• M 111 but Axel Friedrich did not accept
  this test method
• - Axel still insist on producing the used
  oil by the AMA-test
• followed by the VW FE-test
• - The reason why Axel insist on the gt 5
  fuel economy is
• that one big oil company reported gt 5
  FE with 0W-X and
• 5W-X engine oils in a field test with a
  big number of cars
• - As BP reported at the Additives 2007 about
  5.1 FE in a
• field test with a lot of cars it is a big
  likelihood that Axels
• information is from BP
• - Axel sees no need to modify his proposed
  gt5 FE
• - The Jury Umweltzeichen intented to
  approve the draft
• Blue Angel for engine oils in May but
  nothing happened

• CO2 emission of cars
• - Axel suggested to the EU regulators in
  Brussel
• that the max amount of CO2 accepted in
  future
• should be calculated according to the
  area of
• each car as this shows the best
  correlation.
• - A few weeks ago the OEMs suggested to use
• the weight of each car for this
  calculation
• Bio fuels
• - 10 bio fuels either in diesel or
  gasoline cannot be
• supported by UBA as there is not enough
  raw material
• available in Europe, so it caused
  already a strong increase in
• food prices ( Ukraine) and (Mexiko). In
  addition with biofuel
• CO2 reduction costs 300 700 /t
  whereas CO2 reduction
• by insolation costs only 10-15 /t

• - Axel will retire in summer 2008 so TAD
  will
• organize a last meeting with him in
  QI/QII
