Surveill-OH!-Bot
Abstract We decided to use the NXT and code it
further to utilize it for surveillance. In the
root, the NXT is going to be programmed to sense
and assess reflections of Infrared radiations
that it sends out. In case there is a mobile
object that the NXT detects during the
surveillance, then it would alert the owner/user
through a voice message. In case time permits, we
would hook the NXT up with a Wi-Fi device that
would wirelessly send in information to a
computer and the surveillance video would show up
on the screen.
Project Detail Situation Theft and Robbery
are on the rise in most parts of the world and it
is necessary to address this issue as fast as
possible. Since it is not economically feasible
to hire a security guard for each house or
install costly surveillance system, our project
would be the root to further advancements in the
same field that would expose consumers to
affordable surveillance system.   Concept The
NXT is fitted with Infrared transmitters and
receptors that are going to send out IR
continuously and assess by their reception rate
if an object is in motion or not. In case the
object is in motion, the NXT would alert the user
through a voice message. Proof of Concept We
will be demonstrating it as a proof of concept
Roles and Responsibility This project needs a
lot of coding to be done right from the grass
root level so were going to be coding together
on separate modules and take up new ones as we
finish. We would however choose not to commit on
our roles and responsibility separately but as a
team.
